AB InBev didn't want an office. They wanted a stage their brand could perform on.
The Brief
AB InBev needed a headquarters that could function as an office, a product launch venue and a media backdrop simultaneously. The brief required the brand's entire portfolio — Budweiser, Corona, Hoegaarden and others — to each have their own spatial expression within the floor, while the overall design made a bold sustainability statement through material reuse.
The Challenge
48,000 square feet, 90 days, and a brief that asked for the equivalent of multiple brand installations inside a single working office. Every element that referenced upcycling — the beer-can chandelier, the bottle installations — had to be designed, fabricated and installed by the same team building the rest of the fit-out.
What we designed
Designed to the five conditions of the Performance Climate.
Ground
Upcycled beer cans and bottles used as material elements rather than decoration — the sustainability story is in the structure, not on the wall.
Air
Brand zones separated by acoustic and visual breaks so the Budweiser boardroom, the Corona lounge and the Hoegaarden nook each feel distinct.
Light
Each brand zone has its own lighting register — the Budweiser room reads dark and editorial, the outdoor-lounge reads warm and relaxed, the main floor reads energised.
Flow
The layout separates the casual social areas from the working floor so the space functions as an office on a Tuesday and a launch venue on a Thursday.
Focus
The working desking is set away from the brand zones and the event spaces, with a clear acoustic break protecting the team's heads-down time.
What we built
The beer-can chandelier, the Budweiser boardroom joinery, the Corona bar and the custom reception desk were all fabricated in Jigani. The project required our manufacturing team to work with non-standard materials — upcycled cans, bamboo and reclaimed timber — alongside the standard joinery programme.
