CGI didn't want a tech floor. They wanted a workplace that made an arrival feel like an arrival.
The Brief
CGI required a GCC workspace in Bangalore that read as confident and premium from the moment of arrival. The brief asked for a reception that made an instant brand statement, a workfloor that supported the density of a technology team, and a boardroom that could host senior client meetings.
The Challenge
28,000 square feet in 75 days with a reception feature — the curved red angular desk and the CGI brand wall — that required precision fabrication to land the brand statement without reading as standard signage.
What we designed
Designed to the five conditions of the Performance Climate.
Ground
Polished marble with a custom star inlay in the reception, transitioning to performance carpet on the workfloor — materials graded to function in each zone.
Air
The moss living wall in the reception acts as a passive acoustic absorber as well as a biophilic feature, dampening echo in the high-ceiling arrival hall.
Light
The cloud-shaped acoustic ceiling element in the boardroom doubles as a feature light, throwing a diffused warm light over the meeting table that reads as designed rather than installed.
Flow
Visitor arrival through the reception and into the boardroom cluster is separated from the staff circulation path, so client-facing interactions remain premium regardless of the occupancy level behind the desk.
Focus
The boardroom cluster is positioned at the far end of the floor from the reception, giving the meeting rooms acoustic distance from the open workfloor.
What we built
The angular red reception desk, the CGI brand wall treatment and the boardroom cloud ceiling element were all fabricated at Jigani. The reception desk was the signature piece — CNC-routed and finished in brand red before being installed in a single site operation.
